The base case assumed 15 060 ha of not-satisfactorily restocked (NSR) area existed in the TSA. About two-thirds was current NSR expected to meet normal regeneration delay, and the remainder was backlog NSR expected to be restocked by the year 2000. Current records show 9539 ha of the assumed NSR in the base case is now restocked and should have represented by assigning slightly higher ages to the restocked area. This represents a small timber supply increase in the medium to long term, but will not affect the short term supply. Therefore, I accept the assumptions in the base case as appropriate for this determination.
