CLS Readiness Panel

An interim authority was established in 2002 for community living services to adults with developmental disabilities. A permanent authority, Community Living British Columbia, is scheduled to be ready to take over service delivery and budget responsibility in June 2004. An expert panel was appointed to assess the state of readiness for the devolution of Community Living Services. Their report, Baseline Readiness Assessment of CLS Devolution was released on December 19, 2003.

The report supports the June 2004 date for transfer of responsibility, and provides detailed recommendations on next steps.
