GOVERNMENT WIDE WORKFORCE PROFILE
January 2000

Baseline data for the government's employment equity program was assembled in cooperation with BC STATS through a workforce questionnaire that was distributed to all employees in 1994.  The voluntary survey asked employees if they belonged to one or more of the designated groups.  Since then all new employees are asked to complete the survey.  Every six months, for January and July, BC STATS produces reports that compare the number of equity group employees in the public service to the number of equity group members in the population and in overall British Columbia workforce.  The most recent report is for January 2000.
